We're passionate about your vision, and helping you create a consistent aesthetic to your day, starting with the first invitations you send out the door! We can letterpress anything you need a bunch of, from your invites and RSVP cards, to programs and menus for the big day, all with your personal style. Please complete the questionnaire below. It's got lots of fun questions that will help us be able to determine a ballpark quote for you! We respond to these generally within the next 1-2 business days.
- We talk! -
I want to get to know you, and your dreams for your wedding stationery. Once you fill out the questionnaire, I'll send you a preliminary proposal with a ballpark quote, and a scheduler for either a Zoom call, Phone Call, or visit to our Webster Groves studio. During this time, we'll talk papers, colors, design, and what exactly you'd like included in your suite. After this, I will be able to send you a more precise quote. Most of our clients spend between $2,000 - $10,000.
To officially begin, we require a 50% deposit to book Papillon Press. Since we take a limited amount of clients per year, this ensures we can commit to your suite. Design work will not begin without the deposit and a signed contract.
- I design -
This is when I start working on your initial concept. If it requires an illustration, then I start sketching, or playing with different fonts and layouts for your suite. This first phase is usually done between 2-4 weeks from booking.
- We Refine -
Once I get your feedback on the initial concepts, I start narrowing down on design elements, text, etc. From here, you get up to 3 rounds of design revisions included in your custom contract. We'll work together to create the most perfect suite you could ever dream up!
- You Confirm -
Once we've finalized everything, I'll send your final proof. This will be the closest to the "real thing" you get to see before printing! Once you approve the final proof, I will order the printing plates, paper, and mix the ink.
- I Create -
Now, I print! The press I use is 102 years old, and each item is printed one at a time on the press, once for each color included in the design. This usually takes 2 weeks from final approval, depending on what all is needed.
- Finishing Touches -
We offer complimentary black and white envelope printing, included with each suite, in a matching design. Color printing can be added, as well as hand-calligraphy by one of our talented local calligraphers. We can also assemble your suite for added ease.
- Your Wedding Day -
We also offer day-of items like letterpress printed programs and menus, digital files for welcome signs and seating charts, and custom printed place cards.
